Publishing: The following Sexton Blake stories exist in either full or partial form but have never been published.
Notes: In the wake of the Hank Janson trials and in the build up to the passing of the Obscene Publications Act, W. Howard Baker was advised by the board at Amalgamated Press to tone down the sex and violence in the Sexton Blake Library. The new policy directly affected this novel, which had been billed as "The story that never made the headlines" and was in preparation as issue 378 of THE SEXTON BLAKE LIBRARY (4th series). It was hurredly withdrawn from the schedule and HOMICIDE BLUES was rushed into print to take its place. Baker later revised the story to make it a non-Blake novel and it was eventually published (under the same title) as a Consul Paperback by World Distributors (pictured). There are no known copies of the original Sexton Blake version of the tale.
