I didn't believe Thomas Harris could ever top THE SILENCE OF THE LAMBS. Boy, was I wrong! This is TERRIFYING!

Well, this is the one: the novel that dominated 2016. Did it deserve all the plaudits? Hell yes!
Wow! This novel made a big impression! It's a detective novel but one with supernatural elements that nudge it into horror. Fantastic!
This is the novel upon which DIE HARD was based. My favourite movie of all time! And yup, I love the book, too!
An SF classic, this is light-hearted, a bit silly, but enormous fun!
The first Hannibal Lecter novel. Read this and you'll be a) scared out of your wits, and b) awestruck by Thomas Harris's talent.
I can’t think of any other book that has wrenched at my emotions like this one did. Traumatic!
Weird things happened to me while I was reading this. I can’t recall ever being scared not only by a story but also by the novel as an object. Freaky.
I can’t recommend Thomas Harris's novels enough. He's an incredible writer. He scares me silly.
Fowles appears to have been somewhat forgotten. It's a terrible shame. He was a really impressive writer. This novel is great!
A forgotten classic, this tale of the space race gone horribly wrong is insanely good!
You've probably realised by now that I read more classic SF than contemporary. That's because there are gems like this to be discovered. PAVANE is wonderful.
